Marking places and building your list You can save every place you visit or want to visit:
Log visit — records your visit with date, how busy it was, and how much
you enjoyed it. If you hold a membership for that property's organisation, you can also
log what you paid on the day to track your savings against the annual cost
Wishlist — saves somewhere you would like to go. The pin turns gold so
you can spot it on the map
Visited — a quick way to mark somewhere as visited without filling in
the details. The pin turns green
Remove — removes a place from your visited list or wishlist
Tap the visited and wishlist totals at the top of the page to filter the map to just those places.
Free account Creating a free account unlocks everything. Sign up with just your email — no password needed.
Sync across devices — your visits and wishlist follow you between phone, tablet, and desktop
Membership tracker — add your National Trust, English Heritage, Cadw or other heritage memberships and Land & Legacy tracks how much you have saved against the annual cost each time you log a visit
Savings calculator — your account page shows progress bars for each membership and a running total of savings for the year
Hidden Britain newsletter — opt in when you sign up to receive the free weekly newsletter covering the stories behind Britain's historic places
Filters On desktop, filters appear in the left panel. On mobile, tap Filters in the
toolbar to open the filter sheet. You can filter by:
Managing organisation — National Trust, English Heritage, Cadw, Historic Environment Scotland, National Trust for Scotland, Historic Royal Palaces, Coram's Fields Trust, and independent owners
Status — show all sites, only places you have visited, only your wishlist, or only unmarked places
Type — castle, historic house, garden, abbey or priory, industrial heritage, and more
Heritage grade — Grade I, Grade II*, Grade II, Scheduled Monument, Category A, Category B, and others depending on the nation
You can also search by name or place using the search bar, and tap Use my location to centre the map on where you are.
Plan a journey Enter a start point and end point to draw a route on the map. The map then highlights heritage
sites within a corridor of your route — choose 5, 10, or 20 miles either side. You can also
filter by organisation to find, for example, all National Trust properties on the way to your
destination.
On mobile, tap the route icon in the toolbar to open the journey planner.
On desktop, select Plan a journey at the top of the left panel.
Sites within your corridor are highlighted with a green ring. All other pins dim so the
route results stand out. Tap any highlighted pin to see the property details.
Switch to the List tab to see corridor properties in along-route order.
Planning your visit When you open a place you will see links through to the official website, admission prices,
and opening times where available. Tap Open in Maps or Waze to get directions from where you are.
Your data Without an account, your visits and wishlist are saved on this device only and nothing is
shared with us. With a free account, your data is stored securely and synced across your
devices. You can export or delete your account at any time from your account page. The
backup and restore option for device-only data is in the Filters panel under Your places.
Spotted something wrong? Tap Report an issue on any property and let us know. We check these
regularly and keep the information as up to date as we can.
We source property information from public heritage databases and images from Wikimedia
Commons. Details may not always be current, so check opening times and admission prices with
the property before visiting. If using navigation, always verify your route before setting
off.
