History of All Saints Church, Billesley

The church was declared redundant in 1978 and passed into the care of the Churches Conservation Trust, a charity that looks after historic churches across England no longer needed for regular worship. Its Grade I listing places it among a small proportion of English churches recognised as being of exceptional national importance. The building has 11th-century origins, with the present structure largely rebuilt in 1692. The north aisle was demolished by 1428. Billesley itself has remained a small rural parish throughout its history, situated near its larger neighbour, Stratford-upon-Avon.

Architecture of All Saints Church, Billesley

The church has 11th-century origins with 12th-century work evident in the fabric. The current building was largely rebuilt in 1692. Like many small rural parish churches, the surviving structure reflects different building phases rather than a single architectural scheme.
