About this place
Kentwell Hall is a moated Tudor manor house in Long Melford, Suffolk, dating from the mid-sixteenth century.
The red-brick hall sits within a working estate and is privately owned, having been restored over decades by the Phillips family after they acquired it in 1971.
Its walled gardens are a notable feature of the estate, and the courtyard contains a brick-paved maze laid out in a Tudor Rose design.
The hall is particularly well known for its large-scale Tudor re-enactments, which have taken place annually since 1979 and draw hundreds of costumed participants.
