History
The hall was built in 1776 by David Pugh after a Tudor house was destroyed by fire. The gothic revival character—its turrets and castellated detailing—was added in 1820, reflecting the fashion for romantic silhouettes in country house design. After standing empty for many years, it was bought by a group of friends who took on the task of restoring both the building and its grounds. Visitors can follow that work as it progresses.
