About this place

Falconhurst has been home to the Talbot family since 1852, on an estate in the High Weald of Kent.

It combines a working farm with a farm shop, gardens and a full calendar of events, from supper clubs to sculpture exhibitions and open-air opera.

The gardens and farm shop are open to visitors, and parts of the estate can be hired for weddings and private events.

It is as much a living, working estate as a historic house to look at.

History

The estate was founded in 1852 and has remained in the Talbot family ever since. Over time it has grown from a traditional farming operation into a broader estate business, incorporating a farm shop, residential lets and a programme of arts and food events held in and around the historic buildings.

Gardens & grounds

The gardens host regular events, including painting mornings, forest bathing sessions and open-air sculpture displays, making them a working part of the estate's public life rather than a static display.
