About this place
Preston Mill stands beside the River Tyne in East Lothian, and is regarded as one of the oldest mechanically intact water-driven meal mills in Scotland.
The kiln's Dutch-style conical roof and the orange-toned whinstone walls have made it among the most photographed mill complexes in East Lothian.
The National Trust for Scotland has cared for the site since 1950.
The mill gained a wider international following after featuring as a filming location in the television series Outlander.
