Built in the early sixteenth century for Lord Sandys, Henry VIII's Lord Chamberlain, The Vyne is a red-brick Tudor manor house in Sherborne St John, Hampshire.
The house holds the distinction of having the earliest classical portico added to any English country house, installed in 1654.
The National Trust has cared for the property since 1956.
The Tudor chapel inside contains a rare example of Renaissance stained glass that pre-dates the Reformation, commissioned before 1533 and featuring portraits of Henry VIII, Catherine of Aragon, and Margaret Tudor.
